Microsoft 365 | Outlook shortcuts

The Microsoft 365 suite of applications is generally recognised as being a wonderful suite of applications, created purely for the purpose of improving productivity.

Productivity can be improved further still through the application of keyboard shortcuts. I find myself using these more and more recently, so I thought that I'd share them with you, along with some of my favourites.

Write email

  • Create a new email message – N

  • Send this message - Ctrl+Enter / Alt+S

  • Reply to this message - R / Ctrl+R

  • Reply all to this message - Shift+R / Ctrl+Shift+R

  • Forward this message - Shift+F / Ctrl+Shift+F

  • Save draft - Ctrl+S

  • Discard draft – Esc

  • Insert a hyperlink - Ctrl+K

  • Exit message editor - Alt+F10

Email list

  • Select/Unselect this message - Ctrl+Space

  • Select all messages - Ctrl+A

  • Clear all messages – Esc

  • Select first message - Home / Ctrl+Home

  • Select last message - End / Ctrl+End

Read email

  • Open this message - O / Enter

  • Open this message in a new window - Shift+Enter

  • Close this message - Esc

  • Open the next item - Ctrl+.

  • Open the previous item - Ctrl+,
